Office Feng Shui for profit

This article provide you the feng shui art of placement of your office desk and hence your sitting orientation in relation to your office layout for a successful career and profitability of your business whether you work in a large corporate office, home office or a soho.

The arrangement of our office table in relation to the door of our office room is very important in feng shui perspective to attract and retain fortunate energy for the success of the occupant of the office for a successful career or business profit.

Most office design has a beautiful window view on one side and the door to the office on the opposite side. With such common layout design, it is very common for most people to sit with the window behind them so that they can face the door. This is bad feng shui arrangement

To be successful in your career, you have to arrange so that you do not sit with the window behind you. Without a solid wall behind your sitting arrangement, you would not receive the needed support from your superiors, peers or subordinates which is so important for the success of any career person.

Try to arrange your sitting with a solid wall behind you to gain the needed support for a successful career. Let the beautiful window view be at one side of your office working desk.

To enjoy additional feng shui benefits for a successful career, you should take into consideration your facing direction with 8-Mansion Compass Formula and the location of your office desk and office door with Flying Stars Feng Shui.

The "Magic Gourd" commonly known as the Calabash or Wu Lo

The Magic Gourd commonly known as the calabash or Wu Lo is an ancient health miracle wonder. The dried out gourd is used by the Chinese as container for medicine and wines for a long time.

                        The Magic Gourd

               Calabash (Wu Lo)                                   Dui Trigram

Calabash (Wu Lo) is an ancient classical Feng Shui remedy against sickness energy. The calabash symbolises the image of Dui trigram which is yin metal from heaven.

Sickness energy in the flying stars feng shui formula has the attribute of earth element. The calabash being yin metal will weaken and contain the sickness energy, hence providing health for you and your family.

House Hunting with Feng Shui - Part 4

House Hunting with Feng Shui

Get an internal floor plan drawn by the architect if possible, because it has exact dimensions, and it is drawn to scale. If you cannot get that, then draw your own floor plan. However, try to get accurate proportions and dimensions.
Check the compass direction, and then work out the orientation of the house.

The main door should be located at one of the fortunate location such as sheng chi, tien yi, nien yen or fu wei. Make sure the main door, pathway, bedroom door, bedroom, study room and dining room are located at the fortunate locations. However, beware of the annual afflictions. Toilet, bathroom, wash area, kitchen, stove, and storeroom should occupy harmful sections.

Watch out for common design afflictions. Knowing these basic feng shui principles will save you thousands of dollars and frustration in correcting your house.

Common Design Afflictions
  • Do not have the kitchen & dining room located near the main door, especially in an apartment. Do not have the living room located at the back of the house.

  • Do not have the main door built under the toilet or bathroom of the upper floor in a double storey house.

From many years of my feng shui practices, there are many common feng shui afflicted designed houses. Some houses are designed in this way due to cost-saving, while others are just designed by architects, who are not aware of feng shui principles.

House Hunting with Feng Shui - Part 3

If you already have a good external environment such as the auspicious mountains and water at the auspicious location, then your internal environment is used for fine-tuning qi in the environment, and to tap the auspicious qi for maximum benefit.

After examining the larger scale environment of 3km radius, then examine the area within 500 meters radius of the house when evaluating the immediate environment.

House Hunting with Feng Shui - Part 2

Drive around within a 3km radius of the house to observe the environmental forms that may affect the quality of qi in the area. While you are driving within the 3km radius of the property, consider the shape of land, type of land, mountain, landscape feng shui, and water form. I have described in part 1 about examining the lands and mountains in the external surrounding while hunting for your dream house.

In this article, you will learn about examining the water formations in the external surrounding. If the location of the water form in relation to the house is correctly oriented according to feng shui principle, money will never be a problem.

    Water formation
In feng shui, having a correctly located natural water form is the most powerful feature that can enhance income and wealth.

Types of Exterior Natural Water Form:
     a)   Rivers and streams
     b)   Seas and oceans
     c)   Plain lakes and ponds
     d)   Lakes or ponds with waterfall

House Hunting with Feng Shui - Part 1 Continue

    Location, Location, Location

If you are a real estate investor, you would be most familiar with the 3 most important factors of property investment "Location, location, location". In Feng Shui, these factors are also significant. Wherever you choose to buy or rent a house, the location is the most important factor.

Location is important, as the external landscape is something that you cannot change. Fortunately, you can enhance or cure the feng shui of your house by changing the interior layout of your house. Sometime, a major renovation is needed and this is going to be expensive and messy. Plus, all the delay and heart-ache of moving into your dream house. But, any correction you make, is trying to avoid "sha qi" to improve the feng shui of your new dream house. You cannot move external mountains or water body or create external mountains and water bodies to create "sheng qi". In short, you can correct the landscape within your property, but you cannot change the external surrounding and landscape.

Anyway, what shall we examine about the external surrounding and landscape?

Firstly, get a map of the area, where the house is located. The map should show the hills, roads, rivers and other important features in feng shui. Roughly mark out a 3km radius boundary around the house. Then, drive around within a 3km radius of the house to observe the environmental forms that may affect the quality of qi in the area.

If you are internet savvy, "google earth" is a very useful tool that can assist you. Google earth will show you mountains, water, and structures that you will miss out.

House Hunting with Feng Shui - Part 1

    House Hunting with Feng Shui

Purchasing a new house is probably the biggest financial decision in anyone’s life. Get a house, which is well located and bring good luck to the whole family.

You may either buy a brand new house, or do a major renovation to an old house. By this way, your family will move into a period 8 house, which is full of fresh qi and auspiciousness.

Do not simply buy a low cost house or a house on auction, as most houses with bad feng shui are offered at a discount from the market price.

Business Feng Shui - Declutter your office

    Declutter your office

Clutter like unfinished projects, unused papers, unresolved works, disorganized office stationeries and files stimulate negative qi. Your career will become a mess, and you will have lesser opportunity for career advancements. Hence, declutter your office and re-establish order on your desk to improve work performance, work productivity and business wealth.

Physical clutter breeds mental clutter, and it disturbs the energy flow in the office and a build-up of yin qi . Thus, clear your clutter, and arrange your office desk nicely to activate and stimulate flows of positive yang energy. As you free up your mental and emotional burden, you will feel lighter, more cheerful and more optimistic in your working space.

Clean the floors and surfaces, and wash the curtains. Take everything off your desk, and clean up any cluttered areas around it. Remove anything unused, and delete the unused icons on your desktop. If possible, do not have paper trays on desks. Only have items that are used every day and limited papers on your desk. Other items and papers should be placed elsewhere like in the file cabinets, desk drawers, and storage cabinets.

Keep your desk surface clean and clutter free at all times, as it is a symbolic of your state of mind. Keep all files including hardcopy and softcopy in order, as they represent the past, present, and future of the
business. All files should be well-organized and be treated with respect. Only add things that are lovely, positive and career-enhancing.

You don't need a feng shui consultant to advise you on decluttering, this you can diy. For more business feng shui tips, visit us at 1FengShui.com.

Business Feng Shui - External Sha Qi

    External Sha Qi

Do not have your main door or main entrance facing the edge of building, pillar or any poison arrows in the external environment of your business premise.

When you see the edge of building or any poison arrows from the window, block the view with curtains or place a few pot plants to divert the bad qi, as these poison arrows emanate sha qi.

The example given here is a residential building. Imagine in the cities , there are highrise office complexes and the sha qi is stronger and more deadly.

Next, look out for symbolic decoration of the buildings around your business premise for cannon-like, knife-like or arrow-like structure that can bring disaster to your business. Sometime this happens because of business jealousy or rivalry. Sometime it was self-protection by a building owner, but subsequenlty created a feng shui war by neaighbouring buildings because of act of remedy. This may sound like a folk story or condemned to be not feng shui by some feng shui master. But, it is common in Hong Kong where feng shui is widely practised.

Canon on top of building. Where is it shooting?

Knife-shape building. Where is it cutting?
