Feng Shui 2014

2014 Feng Shui - The year of the Horse

We have just entered the new year 2014. But, we have five more weeks to enter the new year of the Horse. The solar new year of the 2014, the year of the House will starts on 4th Feb 2014 at 0605 GMT +8. Throughout the year of the Horse which is from 4th Feb 2014 to 4th Feb 2015, there are certain locations or sectors of a property that house owners or tenants should avoid renovation works, and avoid spending time or working in those sectors.

The afflicted sectors in 2014 are:-

South 2 due to the Grand Duke (Tai Sui)
North West due to the 5 Yellow (Wu Wang)
North due to the 3 killings (Sam Sart).

If you have no choice, but would need to use the afflicted sectors, the traditional or ancient remedy are the placement of:-

a Pi Yao for the Tai Sui,
a 5 elements pagoda for the Wu Wang, and
3 Qi Lin for the Sam Sart

House Hunting with Feng Shui - Part 4

House Hunting with Feng Shui

Get an internal floor plan drawn by the architect if possible, because it has exact dimensions, and it is drawn to scale. If you cannot get that, then draw your own floor plan. However, try to get accurate proportions and dimensions.
Check the compass direction, and then work out the orientation of the house.

The main door should be located at one of the fortunate location such as sheng chi, tien yi, nien yen or fu wei. Make sure the main door, pathway, bedroom door, bedroom, study room and dining room are located at the fortunate locations. However, beware of the annual afflictions. Toilet, bathroom, wash area, kitchen, stove, and storeroom should occupy harmful sections.

Watch out for common design afflictions. Knowing these basic feng shui principles will save you thousands of dollars and frustration in correcting your house.

Common Design Afflictions
  • Do not have the kitchen & dining room located near the main door, especially in an apartment. Do not have the living room located at the back of the house.

  • Do not have the main door built under the toilet or bathroom of the upper floor in a double storey house.

From many years of my feng shui practices, there are many common feng shui afflicted designed houses. Some houses are designed in this way due to cost-saving, while others are just designed by architects, who are not aware of feng shui principles.

Feng Shui Renovation Planning 2013 - 2014

We have just entered the middle of the year 2013. The year of the snake. The new year 2014, the year of the Horse will starts on 4th Feb 2014. Throughout the year of the Snake which is from 4th Feb 2013 to 4th Feb 2014, there are certain locations or sectors of a property that house owners or tenants should avoid renovation works.

This article is to assist in renovation planning. Whether to renovate in the year 2013 or to renovate next year. That is after 4th Feb 2014.

In 2013, the following locations or sectors within a house should be left quiet and renovation should be avoided : -

South East 3 where the Grand Duke (Tai Sui), and East where the 3 killings (Sam Sart) are located.  The 5 Yellow (Wu Wang) is located in the center, hence, there is no issue with the 5 yellow (Wu Wang), as the center is not a sector of the Bagua.
